I visited the home of a couple I’m going to be performing a wedding for next week, and they showed me the mourning dove nesting in one of their hanging baskets. A few days later, they snapped a photo of the chicks for me. So sweet! The parents are completely unbothered by people living their lives within about two feet of their nest.

It’s always the right idea to go for a walk.

There are two little boys aged maybe 2 and maybe 4 whose mum pulls them past my house in a wagon every day on their way to day care. I was in the yard one day about a month ago when their mum said she hoped it was OK they were snitching chives from our garden.

“We have three patches of chives for that exact reason,” I said. “We wouldn’t put a garden in front of our house if we didn’t want little dudes munching from it.”

Since then, I hear them go by every day. They call it “Dave’s Garden”. I have told them a few times it’s really Erin’s Garden, but the name has stuck.

Every morning they each have a chive. Every morning, they each have a pod of peas. This morning, their mum fed them each a nasturtium blossom.

“I’m eating a flower!” yelled the older one.

“Try the leaves,” I said. “They’re spicy.”

“That will be tomorrow’s treat,” said them mum.

“See you tomorrow, buddies,” I said, waving from my door.

“BYEEE DAAAVE!”

I’m playing in a chess tournament tomorrow. I’m excited to be playing against real live people, but I’m also super nervous. I love blitz chess, but I’ve never played this speed (3:2) over the board before. It’s the time control I prefer online, but I’m worried about the mad scramble of pieces/clock in real life.

I let Lolo out first thing every morning. When I get back from my paper route, she always leads me to the front door so I can feed her breakfast.

New services added under P.E.I.’s gender-affirming care policy

atlanticcanada:

Pride Progress Flag

The P.E.I. government has expanded the list of procedures covered under its gender-affirming care policy. The updates include the addition of services such as voice therapy and face and chest feminization surgeries.

Hey, this rules. CBC also interviewed Jay Gallant, a very cool guy who is a community member advising Health PEI on gender affirming care. (scroll to the 21:03 mark on that video).

Hello, yes, every real grown ass adult definitely finds a handful of rubber bands in their pocket leftover from their morning paper route, yes I thought so.

Gosh, I love the chaos on Twitter. I love watching Elon throw handful after handful of spaghetti at the wall. I love watching individuals stomp off the platform “forever” only to show up the next day with a tweet about whatever fresh thing they’re indignant about.

I’ve toyed with quitting a few times, but I’m having too much fun. I’m going to ride this rocket into the sun.
